De broers Dino en Gianni maken met Le Rocchette een van de mooiste Barbera’s van Piemonte. De druiven voor deze krachtige Asti worden pas in de tweede helft van oktober met de hand geoogst. Dino Bertolino selecteert oude stokken, die druiven met meer concentratie en rijpheid geven. Deze selectie is belangrijk voor het wijnmaakproces, want Le Rocchette rijpt ongeveer achttien maanden in grote vaten van 2.500 liter, gemaakt van Frans eikenhout.

Een lichte Barbera, bijvoorbeeld van een jongere wijngaard, zou dit niet aankunnen en al snel een overdosering eikenhoutinvloed hebben. Voor de bijzondere Le Rocchette pakt het juist heel positief uit. De smaak en geur worden complexer door de langzame en gelijkmatige rijping in de grote vaten. Tegelijk behoudt de wijn de unieke smaakkwaliteiten van optimaal rijpe barberadruiven.

De broers Dino en Gianni maken met Le Rocchette een van de mooiste Barbera’s van Piemonte. Drink de wijn zoals de Italianen aan tafel met een bijpassend gerecht, of simpelweg met kaas of worst en brood.
